Application to postpone or adjourn a hearing

When to make an application to postpone or adjourn a hearing?

An Employment Judge can make an order to postpone a hearing under the general case management powers set out in rule 29 of the Rules, and you can make an application for a postponement or adjournment under rule 30 of the Employment Tribunal Rules. Although you can make an oral application for a postponement of a hearing, it is much wiser to make your application in writing to the relevant Employment Tribunal office. This template for an application to postpone or adjourn a hearing, refers to correct legal rules and is framed to help you obtain a postponement or adjournment.
